Bass in Metal

cynic- focus. that entire album has epic bass work. also check out anything digiorgio has done. he always adds some flavor to what ever band he's in at the time

goddamn it you idiots, the thread should have ended with the control denied suggestion

no metal album has better bass performance than stevie digiorgio on "fragile art of existence"

Pain of Salvation has some great bass work, be it the "in the face and obvious" slap bass of Entropia or the more subtle but very there lines that are on TPE and Remedy Lane, all of it is great but I don't quite know if that is what you're looking for.

Another great band for bass work is Stargazer. The Scream That Tore The Sky is absolutely fantastic bass wise.

Iron Maiden-killers.

entire album

Acid Bath has a lot of great bass lines.

ok, compare rex brown to digiorgio or malone. even local bands have better bass players. like jean baudin (sp?) who played for nuclear rabbit/element of suprise.

dont even make me break out the list of non metal bass players

Jesus fucking h christ on a crucifix...

No, Rex Brown is not as good as digiorgio or malone.

He's good, not great. I would put him up against any bassist in any groove metal band and he would destroy them (also bands like Crowbar and Down).

He is a monster bassist for the genre in which he played.

lol, comparing groove metal bassists?! who the fuck cares about bands who can barely play their instruments

groove metal = guys who want to play thrash but cant
