I agree. You guys had Haikara, among other good prog. These days, for me, it's all Alamaailman Vasarat. LOVE that shit, man!

Don Corleone, if you like Mr Gonzalez, you really should try that Promise and the Monster album. She's like a female version of him...well...guitar playing. Dark, sad mood too. Her vocals sound like the lady from The Knife.

About the Anekdoten: Chances are, if you liked Gravity, you'll like this one. It's not as heavy as, say, Nucleus, but it does have its loud moments, and parts that feel like they're tearing at your soul (actually, there's one part that reminds me of Motorpsycho's instrumental side). Gunnar Bergsten (Fläsket Brinner, Bo Hansson) does improv flute on 2 tracks, and they've introduced a bit of Moog into their sound on 2 songs too.

I wouldn't say they're anything like Anathema.

I agree. Anekdoten just continue to get better and better in the songwriting department. Although I like their earlier albums, Gravity and A Time of Day just really strike a cord with me.

I'm not a big fan of it and I love some of his earlier stuff, it's basically like vol 2 of "with teeth" with the fragile quality sound instead of the rather 1980s proudction of that one. Aka mostly fluffy throwbacks to pretty hate machine. It's not half bad but it isn't that good either.

WT is a clasical straight, guitar/drum driven, midi-esque pop-rock album. With emotional/self-descriptive lyrics.
Whether
YZ is loop/beat-based noise-pop album that conceptually (both lyrically and musically) fits a distopian alternative future.

How is YZ a vol. 2 of WT I´ll never understand.
