While Exodus, Testament, Laaz Rockit, Forbidden, Death Angel, et al all contributed mightily to the Bay Area Thrash sound, NOT A ONE OF THOSE BANDS IS EVER EVEN NOTICED without Metallica breaking down the walls. Hate them now if you will (we all do anyway), but don't disrespect the legacy.

I voted for Testament. They are overall one of my favorite bands ever. I do agree that early Metallica owns but I just like Testament overall a bit better.
