Blut Aus Nord is not a one man band. Unless you're basing this opinion on his solo bands from the '90s, this claim is completely unjustified.Vindsval covers all of those areas but far more efficiently.

Vindsval did the first two BAN albums as a one man band.

Wrest is easily the best musician in black metal, as he is the only one that I am aware of who has displayed mastery of vocals, guitars, synths, bass, and drums. He is criminally underrated in all of these areas.

Howl Mockery is not a best of, it's a demo compilation featuring work from before his generally better material. I would recommend the Leviathan half of the split with Sapthuran, also titled The Fourth Blind Wound. It opens with a fitting programmed intro. The first song has some pretty technical guitar playing early on. The drums and bass are at a high point in the second half of the second song. The drumming is not wildly fast, but a billion times more tasteful than Trym or Hellhammer. The bass in general is far above the norm for black metal. The third and fourth songs have good backing keys.Which album do you recommend that exhibits this? Because listening to the only Leviathan album (best of), Howl Mockery at the Cross, I can honestly say there's nothing above average for me.
Best all around musician for me would be either Abbath, Quorthon or Erik of Watain.
