The first SOad album was excellent. Toxicity was good but not as organic. You can tell they started to try and take the next step in the mainstream metal scene. But I still enjoyed most of it. After that I can't even listen to them. They have completely turned into a pussy mainstream rock band that still tries to act like they are activists.

Not a fan of SOAD, never been, but I saw them last year at a festival and they had really great live sound. Too bad I hate the music!

SOAD and their horde following of teeny boppers are a fucking disgrace to metal and make my ears vomit. God, I had to laugh at - and pity - Scott Ian's conviction when he adamantly described Toxicity as a thrash metal album in Get Thrashed. uke:

Alot of bands are thrown into the nu-metal category even though there are no similarities between some of the bands. There are hardly similarities between System and Slipknot just like there are absolutely no similarities between System and a band like Disturbed. None. Disturbed is much darker and heavier than System of a Down ever was. System of a Down and Disturbed have nothing in common. Nothing. Disturbed has an image and sound that is much closer to true metal. All System of a Down has is Serj Tankian overexaggerating his vocals and Daron Malakian sounding like a whiny bitch on his backround vox. All System of a Down is good for these days is providing a pop-soundtrack backround to mall kids who hear 'Chop Suey' and think its the heaviest song ever created.

While I agree Disturbed doesn't sound much like System of a Down I completely disagree with them never being as heavy. SOAD's first 2 albums are heavy as fuck. Much heavier than anything disturbed has ever done.

Disturbed is one of the cheesiest bands I have ever heard. "ohhh wahh ahhh ahh ahhhh" fucking so lame I can't even stand it. That midget fat bald douche bag singer is really embarrassing. It's hard to take that band seriously. But I will always really like the first 2 SOAD albums they are heavy as fuck and very original sounding... especially their first album which is amazing.

But I do agree nowdays SOAD is a joke, serj and the rest of the guys can lick my nuts
