and you wonder why you cant get laid?
I've been hearing good things about that Apostle of Solitude. I need to pick that up.
Orne - www.myspace.com/ornemusic - Formed from the Peter Vicar and the Reverend Bizarre trio, with Albert on vox, plus 4 or so other musicians including the sax, organ, flute, etc. Hard to explain other than progressive arrangements, jazzy at times, brooding, folky, very earthy, the occasional rock moments that momentarily pop up here and there. Im still digesting it but its a definite grower and very intriguing.
Some months ago, at a record fair, I talked to the guy running I Hate Records and he said that someone ("Albert" I think...) from Revered Bizarre had a new project which would be handled by I Hate. This would, according to him, be similar to RB but, very good and a lot blacker etc. Since this old computer of mine can't handle myspace (plus the fact that I hate the site), I ask you: could Orne be the project/band he was talking about? Eg has it got anything to do with I Hate?

Mushroom's Patience - From the Mountain/The Spirit of the Mountain
Yes, hes referring to The Puritan. It was a 12" put out on I HATE.
"...their music sounds like a guitar-mating-with-a-Moog-on-overdrive Jesus and Mary Chain-like super-distorted wall of misery applied to pulsing, hypnotic minor chord madness and slothful tempos with the end effect sounding like Goblin on some horrible Ketamine bender. The singer wails above it all in a plaintive-yet-clarion delivery."
