I'll agree on that one

same with Blood Sword on "Eat a Peach"

some others mentioned here are too close to pre metal metal or by metal bands or bands that do some metal to qualify

Blackfield - Blackfield II
Sieges Even - Paramount

Are two non-metal albums I am diggin heavily right now...

Some of the great non-metal albums of days gone by...

Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
Pink Floyd - Animals
Jon Anderson - Olias Of Sunhillow
Triumvirat - Illusions on a Double Dimple or Sparticus
Any 70s Era "Yes" Album
Chroma Key - Dead Air For Radios
The First Three "Boston" Albums
Blue OCtober - History For Sale

But Boston was hardrock or what I call premetal. Its really the same genre just an earlier decade, same deal with Van Halen or Zeppelin or Are You Experienced. I'd even pick Aqualung or Masque/Leftoverature but much of that was the heavy stuff in its time. Not "metal" but part of the evolution.

too hard, i lsten to more non metal than i do metal. these would be up there though, i count "hair" or pop metal and led zeppelin, jeff beck group, cream, hendrix experience, mountain as proto heavy metal so thats why no albums by these bands are on this list

rolling stones- sticky fingers
grateful dead- american beauty
prince- gold experience
jeff beck-blow by blow
tom petty-full moon fever
the who- who's next
rolling stones- exile on main street
elton john-goodbye yellow brick road
grateful dead- working man's dead
pink floyd-wish you were here

The first 5 or so Billy Joel albums
Claptons 461 Ocean Boulevard
Head East - Flat as a Pancake
Crack the Sky, self titled (has some premetal progressive elements)
Little Feat - Let it Roll
Return to Forever - Romantic Warrior
Dixie Dregs - Free Fall
Gamalon - self titled
Vaughan - Couldnt Stand the Weather
James Gang - Bang and Miami
Tommy Bolin - Teaser
Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs (is heavy but a different heavy)
Chicago - Chicago Transit Authority & II
Steely Dan - Royal Scam
Nora Jones - Come Away With Me

now most of those are definantly non metal

My list could be fucking endless...but here I go (in no order):

Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies
Sublime - 40oz to Freedom
BEATLES - White Album
Pink Floyd - Animals
King Crimson - The Court of the Crimson King
Radiohead - OK Computer
Anathema - Judgement
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
UFO - Lights Out
Deftones - White Pony
My Morning Jacket - It Still Moves
A Perfect Circle - Mer de Norms
The Allman Bros. - Live at Fillmore
Blind Faith - Blind Faith
Robin Trower - Bridge of Sighs

I do have a pretty open mind when it comes to Non-Metal.
These albums helped me through some rough times.

:headbang::headbang::headbang: to you Razoredge.
Nobody EVER mentions Robin Trower. People like to put the tag on him saying he ripped off Hendrix but nonetheless a GREAT guitarist and plays w/ so much emotion.
I recommend everyone here check out the songs: Day of the Eagle, Bridge of Sighs and Little Girl. If you want to hear the Blues w/ balls.

He also sounds great when you're high.

GTFO, The Beatles are were far superior, more original, and more influential than fucking Paradise Lost could ever be.

Just for that, here are some of the best non-metal albums of all time:

Revolver

Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
White Album
Abbey Road
Let It Be

Revolver is probably the worst Beatles album.

I don't like them that much, as I have said before, I haven't really liked any of their instrumentals. The only talent they have is their songwriting and vocals. I do give them credit for trying out other styles and not sucking. But still they will never be considered an amazing band in my eyes.

Porcupine Tree - In Absentia/Stupid Dream
Deftones - White Pony
Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals/Antichrist Superstar
Nine Inch Nails - Downward Spiral
Eminem - Marshall Mathers LP
Rush - Moving Pictures/2112
Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction

All American Hi-Fi albums.
The first two Sum 41 albums.
London Calling.
The White Stripes - Elephant
