Well, it is almost March! :loco:

Best new releases:

Primordial - The Gathering Wilderness
Moonsorrow - Verisakeet
Novembers Doom - Pale Haunt Departure
Dark Tranquillity - nice surprise, but whether it's a top 10 album is yet tbd

Best old shit that I'm only just getting round to:

Ark - Burn the Sun....holy shit, Jorn Lande you are my new hero
Sanctuary - Into the Mirror Black....Neverwho? :D
Novembre - Novembrine Waltz...why am I so late to this band?
Manticora - 8 Deadly Sins
Fantomas - The Directors Cut...oh yes!!!

On the fence:

Judas Priest - Angel of Retribution...it's not phenomenal, it's far from bad
James Murphy - Convergence....excellent stuff, but for how long?
Bloodbath - Nightmares made of Flesh...I prefer this to the last, but it's still just straightforward DM...which means shelf life = 1 month

Disappointing!!!:

Kreator - Enemy of God....I dunno, it's already ran out of steam for me

Still to Come:

Slough Feg
Hammers
Nokturnal Mortum...although some of you fukkers have already heard it
Bruce Dickinson...he has to follow up Chemical Wedding....can it be done?
Drudkh...this is already out, right?
Negura Bunget....I feel like we've been waiting a long time for this, and frankly, I'm not as excited as I would have been 12 months ago
Summoning...we know what to expect, it will be teh win
Wolverine...I have no idea what to expect, it will be teh win

:Spin:

Best new releases:

Haven't heard anything from 2005 yet that makes me want to do cartwheels.

Best old shit that I'm only just getting round to:

No new old stuff either...

On the fence:

Judas Priest - Angel of Retribution: Yea well i haven't listened to this since the first few times so i'm letting it sit to the side to let it age a bit then come back later.
Overkill - ReliXIV: As with most new Overkill albums i have to listen to them in stages but generally end up loving it after some time.

Disappointing!!!:

Anything i've listened to that's new to me. Most of the stuff you guys listen just doesn't appeal to me. I've tried and tried to no avail.

Still to Come:

Confessor
Fall of the Leafe
Bruce Dickinson
Katatonia
Gorefest
Antimatter
Havayoth (maybe)

Stuff I'm digging:
Frantic Bleep
Enslaved
Bloodbath
Behemoth
Om
High on Fire
Primordial
Fantomas--new one, comes out soon

Pleasantly surprised:
Priest
Overkill-not firm on this one yet
Astral Doors-traditional metal very early Dio, late Sabbath

2005 stuff:

I've only heard the new Primordial, Dark Tranq, and Evoken. The Primordial rules.

Old stuff I'm now getting to:

Pelican
The Black League
Sacramentum
and some obscure pagan black metal bands like Ha Lela and Poccolus and also Rivendell.

Forthcoming 2005 stuff:

NEW GRAVELAND!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are already samples on the website
NEW SCALD on CODE666!!!!!
I want to hear the new Mourning Beloveth
the new Astrofaes
Bran Barr
maybe a new Dawn album?
Drudkh
Lord Wind
Moonsorrow
new OBTEST!!!!!!
Nachtfalke? Mordaehoth? Rudra? Sigh?
Summoning

My most anticipated releases forthcoming:

Drudkh - The Swan Road (I've already ordered the LP)
Hate Forest - Sorrow
Primordial - The Gathering Wilderness (out, but I want to order the digibook)
Taake - ...Doedskvad (out today!)
Nokturnal Mortum - Weltanschauung (already heard this... exceeds my expectations)

There will PROBABLY be a new Nargaroth release of some kind as well seeing that Kanwulf usually has put out a new album or at least an EP every year for the last little while.

Hermano goddammit.

Also I heard some new Priest tonight, it totally rocked! I hate Priest! WTF!

Do you like... want a CD-R or are you one of those anti pre-release download (or anti download) guys? I still fully intend to buy the album, probably on all three formats. It's just when I have the chance to hear something brillinat a few months before I normally would be able to- I go for it.

No that's fine man, thanks. I have a stack of albums I need to digest a little more (aka new releases, promos and shit), so I can wait. I will buy it either way. I just hope they release it in a regular jewel or digipak, and not a DVD case this time. :loco:

I want to make 2005 a well balanced year. The 10 definite albums I want, plus nice surprises that come from nowhere. I pretty much drowned in 2004. :tickled:

Disappointing!!!:

Kreator - Enemy of God....I dunno, it's already ran out of steam for me

yes, this is a lame duck.
good example why I should change my train of thought about discs hittin me in the gut instantly.
good disc ... but I don't know ... something generic about it.
