Best of 2008

Urgh...I have to do this soon *cries*

My interchangeable top 10 I'm most surely leaving stuff out of:

Seamount - ntodrm
Human Mincer - Degradation Paradox
Nocte Obducta - Sequenzen einer Wanderung
Manilla Road - Voyager
Necrovation - Breed Deadness Blood
Abominable Putridity - In The End Of Human Existence
Krallice - Krallice
Mgła - Groza
Black Comedy - Instigator
Raunchy - Wasteland Discotheque

Actually this is probably the order, the top being best.

The Krallice record is not that good. It sounds like a cheap Weakling to me.

This list will most likely change when I get my next haul of brutal death stuff.

10. Mourning Beloveth-"A Disease For The Ages"
9. Arckanum-"Antikosmos"
8. October Falls-"The Womb of Primordial Nature"
7. Dodsferd-"Death Set The Beginning Of My Journey"
6. Leviathan-"Massive Conspiracy Against All Life"
5. Horna-"Sanojesi Aarelle"
4. Necronoclast-"Haven"
3. Origin-"Antithesis"
2. I Shalt Become-"Requiem"
1. Behexen-"My Soul For His Glory"

Favorites.

Bloodbath `unblessing the purity, the fathomless mastery.
Daylight Dies `lost to the living
Opeth `watershed
Grave `dominion VIII
Unleashed `hammer batallion
Evocation `dead calm chaos
Hail of Bullets `of frost & war

Huh? How? Weakling and Krallice sound nothing alike.

You're forgetting that Alter is a fucking idiot and always hears things in ways that don't make sense and only masturbates over bands that he hasn't seen mentioned before regardless of whether or not they have been mentioned.

I made this video for my blog, my Top 10 Black Metal Albums of 2008.

Forgive my iMovie noobishness.

I'm still yet to hear Revelation, Ogre and Lord Vicar's albums. Reissue of the year would be a tie between Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death and Slaughter - Strappado.

They have that same long, drawn-out, epic sound. I like Krallice just not that much.

You don't even listen to metal. You like Boris and shit.

Surely you can hear the obvious Interpol influences in both?

Also, I'm disappointed that The Corpse of Rebirth hasn't been mentioned yet.

This would be on my list if I had enough releases from '08 to make a list that didn't just include the only things I have bought from this year. I fail at buying new shit. I am always catching up on the old stuff.

Raunchy - Wasteland Discotheque

I listened to this whole album and a few songs from other albums at work today because I've seen you praise them several times. I knew they were a synthy melo death kinda band but I figured maybe they would be alrate, and kinda similar to Fear My Thoughts (I still really like Hell Sweet Hell, shame the other albums kinda suck), well.... Raunchy are awful.

Haven't really gotten the order down but these are all my favorites from this year. I'm probably forgetting some.

Abominable Putridity - In the End of Human Existence
Gorevent - Abnormal Exaggeration
Blaze Inside - Pure Potenciality
Orchidectomy - A Prelate's Attrition
Human Mincer - Degradation Paradox
Blutklinge - Reflection's of a Bleak Mind
Gris - Il Etait Une Foret
I Shalt Become - Requiem
Katalepsy - Musick Brings Injuries
