to me, that is a sorry bunch, I know, they are pioneers, but I don't really listen to any or consider them good after the better bands came about, I used to listen to slayer though, so I voted for them.

Slayer has been the most consistent for me. I used to love both Metallica and Anthrax, but my interest in them stopped with the Black Album and Among the Living, respectively. Everything after those albums does very little for me.
With Megadeth, IMO, except for Risk, World Needs a Hero, and most (not all) of Youthanasia, they rule.
They were all great live. Seen Metallica 7x, Anthrax 5x, Megadeth 4x, and Slayer 8x.

Call me a cheater but I couldnt Truely decide on 1 or 2 or 3 so I voted for all 4 
Each band had a Very Important impact on what I listen to now ... Espeacially ....Metallica! if it wasnt for them Pussying out I may have not Discovered all the great bands that I did because of it... granted I will always hate them for it hahaha but they did push me further into the underground as a result, That and Master of Puppets is one of the Finest Metal albums ever! ... Slayer I love Slayer always have always will and for me Divine Intervention is a Masterpiece I can still remember putting it in for the first time and damn near blowing my speakers with "Killing Fields" and they were the First really REALLY Dark band I listened to at the time they made Metallica sound like the "Fade to Bluegrass" Tribute 
they were also one of my First Real Metal Bands! ....Anthrax "Sound of White Noise" enough said!... and then Megadeth ... I remember the first time I heard Peace Sells... I couldnt believe a Human Being could actually sound like that and what a Dark Album that was even the cover of "I aint superstious" had serious Dark overtones .. I really dug Megadeath for a looooooooooooong time but Ol Dave just aint singing my tune any more hahaha

Anthrax has become a pop band, Slayer is like the AC/DC of Speed Metal, sorry there is only ONE AC/DC & Metallica are a mere shell of what they once were.
Granted, Megadeth has gone through some major shake ups recently & yes Anthrax has gotten the Belladonna line-up back. I still say Megadeth...

I still worship "Reign In Blood" as the ultimate thrash album. I have yet to find an album that expresses better the awesome power that is Thrash!!

Anthrax-Persistence of Time One of my top 5 favorite albums of all time, enough said right there.
Megadeth-Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? raw, tough, aggressive, fast, heavy as fuck, complex, tight musicianship, just freaking awesome!
Slayer-Seasons in the Abyss A perfect mix of the Reign in Blood aggression and the South of Heaven melody.
Metallica-Kill 'Em All straight forward, bare bones, No BS, raw,fast, heavy thrash.

I wouldn't even put them in the same league as the fab four...
I think they are more like "B" Company. Along with Testament, Death Angel,
Exodus, ect.
All of which are great bands, but they certainly were NOT(that word again)
the innovators....
