Dont know how many people here give a damn about the bdo.... but i heard next years is the last one before they go on a *break*? is there any truth to this? and if so why ?

I've heard that too. Apparently it takes about 15 months to organize one of those things, so the guys want a bit of a break. They've had a break before (I think 1998 was also the last one for a while), but it was replaced with a splinter groups BDO, so you didn't really notice.

They didn't have one in 1998 because 1997 was supposed to be the 'final' one, then they figured they might as well make more money.

What i heard was that they were planning to make this the last year to celebrate 10 years(92,93,94,95,96,97 at Moore Park, and then 99,00,01,02 at Homebush) but they had quite a few US bands that were going to play this year, but because of the tragic events on Sept 11 decided they wouldn't be able to make it.The organisers of the BDO have promised these bands that they would have 1st preference for next years event and therefore thay are extending it for one more year.
