Black Metal... why?

you're playing in dangerous territory. i won't warn you again.

To me, black metal is inseparable from its ideologies, which are mainly rooted in hatred, nihilism, individualism, deep ecology etc. The music is its cathartic expression. If you're indifferent to these topics, it is better to put this genre aside and move on to something else.

Black Metal combines the aesthetic of classical music, which is the most enlightened form of human expression, with the pure human aggression that extreme metal most suitably expresses. The product is...perfection.

Haha, yeah the aesthetic of classical... right. I love Black Metal with all my heart, but really, it has nothing on classical. After analyzing classical music thoroughly in music classes I've had, I've really seen the genius of it.

if you don't like black metal, its because you don't understand it...much like any form of art...for the same reason, some don't see the genius in modern country music.

Enslaved, Ulver, Emperor, Ackercocke and Satyricon will be duly checked out. And thanks for the warning, Derbeder, but I think my buddy's Manowar fascination already broke my brain.

By the way, I've actually heard some Ulver- seems like they got into electronica-ish stuff later in their career...?
