Bloodbath at PARTYSAN 2008!!

What would be a good idea was if they did not play any songs they played at Wacken, and did an entirely new setlist. That would cut out a lot of favorites, but would be awesome for the variety.

Otherwise this new DVD could be very redundant.

yeah.. they should at least change every song except three. I need Ways To Grave, So You Die and the Breeding Death EP from the dvd though :p

shit...of course you'd get them on the dvd, but how is that the same as hearing them live?!
i think this is still a concert, and to just say, "yeah, you got those other songs on a dvd, we'll just play a whole other setlist, excluding most of our best songs, so more people will buy the new dvd" is kind of bullshit.
i mean, i'd dig every song they play, since i pretty much love every bloodbath song, but the whole concept of that idea would be a huge turn-off...
tumn, are you going to party.san?

I'm glad that it isn't Wacken. You have to know that in meantime Wacken's reputation isn't the best one in Germany, because in the last 10 years it evolved to a big sellout-metal-funfair where only cash is the intention for doing this festival.
In opposition to that the Party.San Open Air owns still the underground-intention where fans organize a festival for fans. This festival has also big dimensions and has enormously grown in the last 10 years, but it has still the underground-attitude (just look at the fair price of 39 Euro and all the Undergroundbands) which I and many other Germans prefer.
Just read the news for the Wacken-Poll and all the discussions on the Bolt Thrower-Page and maybe you will understand what I mean (http://www.boltthrower.com/news/news.php).

Im very, very happy to see Bloodbath on such a festival :)

the whole point in a festival is to make money. and clearly if it sells out its bringing people what they want. people travel from all over the world for it. I have myself and thats because that it is cheaper(for the full weekend ticket and plane ticket) and better than any festival over here. The underground is not important to me as it is flooded with tons of redundant acts that still try and bring back entombed and morbid angel esque sounds etc etc. At least at wacken it is big enough to bring back old favourites such as these acts. immortal/emperor/carcass/at the gates. Fact is, the money helps these bands and wacken can provide. And i dont think any credability should be lost just because money is involved. It makes the world turn and everyone has a good time there non-the less.

No, I'm not going anywhere unless they come here.

so, you're not even seeing them live and still you want them to play all different songs, so you can see them all on dvd?
that's pretty selfish considering alot of people are hoping to hear their fave songs, and i don't think a dvd should be highest priority, the concert should.
it'd be a whole different story if you were actually attending party.san and would sacrifice seeing the songs live for the dvd...a whole different story.

sure, because i guess it is strictly deathmetal.

But wacken is an extreme music festival. And im glad it makes the revenue it does because it gives those people a chance to experience the bands that were big in the late 80's/early 90's. I wouldnt have been able to as i was so young. I just dont agree with the whole 'selling-out' standpoint being a bad thing.

i'll agree on the sellout thing. i'd go to the place with the best bands and the best price regardless if it's commercial in the sense of advertising and such. when it comes down to bands i do enjoy myself more in an environment with more similar people. i've been to places like swedenrock and often found myself annoyed by the amount of glamrockers, nu-metallers etc. that just dont know dick about music. i know i'm slightly closed minded in that sense but it's just how i feel i guess.

i wouldn't have minded at all going to wacken though.. this year i just don't find the bands very appealing. maybe next year

not to mention Morbid Angel and At the Gates! lol, and i'm excited for NOFX =) I saw them back when I was 12 and it was awesome =) Ah my punk days...the decline is still a wicked song
