Blooddrunk US Tour w/ TBDM & BTBAM

Cool pics! I guess I should've waited with you guys, but I was so fucked up and ate danger dogs so I would've probably acted a fool in front of Janne :p Nice to see the memories of that night still resinate :)

Definitely. that night was the best bodom night I've had so far. Best show I've seen them perform.

:lol: yeah, that was fuckin' great.

Cleveland, OH Show.

I gotta start off by saying absolutely f*cking amazing. The venue (House of Blues) was spectacular.. a little overview: There is an upstairs balcony (no one was allowed up) and a downstairs area.. with the stage probably about 4' off the ground. In the middle of the room is a huge soundboard.. and the stage is flanked by huge stack of speakers. There are multiple bars as well. The standing area is surround by seating on all 3 sides. Amazing venue!!

The venue helped make this show so amazing because of the sound quality. This is the third time I've seen Bodom this year and the sound was mind-blowing. The band played extremely well together.. although I did notice that they didn't play all of the songs on previous setlists I have seen. I'll make a second post with songs that were/weren't played tonight.

Some more interesting stuff:
- On the COB website, Roope posted that the band was going to spend a night "on the town" in Cleveland. Alexi addressed this to the audience.. so the night went like this: The band decided to get "real f*cked up.." So f*cked up that Roope was escorted home by 3 police officers and Henkka made it home on the back of a pick up-truck. And to top it off, Alexi said he was throwing up right before the show from the previous nights events. So they definately had some fun!!
- Back to the music: Like I mentioned before.. the band played really, really well for being so hungover and the sound quality was damn impressive. Alexi added quite a few "divebombs" to the end of the 2nd solo in Hate Me! it actually sounded amazing! He also used the "other side of the fretboard" fingering technique in SNBN (just how him and Roope do in the Stockholm Knockout DVD at the beginning of the song) and he even did this technique during a riff in another song (It's late, and I'm really tired from the show).
- The crowd was really into it.. I was suprised how many people sung along to the "oldies" like Bed of Razors and children of decadence. And along the lines of Children of Decadence.. it may be one of my all-time favourites after that live viewing. Alexi's guitar sounded incredibly f*cking good and the he nailed the whole song. The band went into a very long "interlude.." which I'm assuming is another older song at the end of CoD.. I have no idea what song it was.. but Alexi pretty much solo'ed for 90 seconds after the band played/sang this interlude for about 2-3 minutes.

I was so impressed at this show.. like I said, it's my 3rd time seeing them and the energy they brought tonight.. I can NOT wait to see them again. They played a total of 70 minutes.

pretty close to correct order ...

follow the reaper
smile pretty for the devil
silent night, bodom night
in your face
hellhounds on my trail
angels dont kill
children of decadence/chokehold
blooddrunk
sixpounder
are you dead yet
bed of razors :worship:
banned from heaven
hate me
hate crew deathroll
everytime i die
downfall

The order at the Cleveland, OH show went similar to this.. This is the best I can do from my memory (and the order might be a little off.. I can't remember where they played Bed of Razors.. also may have missed a song or two, I'll update it when I wake up and can think clearly):
FTR, Smile Pretty for the Devil, SNBN, Hellhounds on my Trail, Blooddrunk, Living Dead Beat, Sixpounder, Children of Decadence (I guess the interlude was Chokehold.. although I'm not familiar with it), Angels Don't Kill, Hate Me, Hate Crew Death Roll, Bed of Razors, In Your Face, Downfall

that's kickass about the cleveland show. i saw them this past weekend in pontiac, michigan. this place also had like 4 bars, a pretty nice balcony, etc. i liked that it was a little smaller, made it a bit more intimate. there were probably a couple hundred people there, but still breathing room (in one sense of the word at least - there was a shit ton of smoke). tickets were actually a 21st birthday present, and it was the first time i've seen them live. it was one of the happiest fucking moments of my life! i actually kind of feel bummed out knowing that it's going to be hard to match that level of excitement and sheer ecstasy after that show, i wonder if this is what post partum depression feels like..?
setlist was pretty much what people have been saying, can't remember the exact order but the songs were all there. loved when 'children of decadence' came up, it's always good to hear those old classics.
for between the buried and me and black dahlia murder the sun was still up so it was frustratingly bright at times with the setting sun through the windows, but it went down just in time for bodom to take the stage. as a reference for others, the BtBaM set was about 30-35 minutes (they have long songs though! only played 4 or 5 total), then 10 minutes or so to switch out. then BDM was probably 50-60 minutes, and bodom was just about 90 total.
we found at that the fucking girls gone wild crew was hosting a party there after the show which is why the whole thing ended up ending at like 9:10 or so. i guess we got a full set, but it still felt early. plenty of time for drinking afterwards at least! the team america theme was fucking perfect, i knew it was coming from reading updates on SoB site, but still great. even got to hear andrew w.k. version of 'she is beautiful' as they were setting up. here are some pics of the venue:

some gear that was off to the side:

view of the looking back and up from near the stage (blurry i know, sorry!)

my view looking down at the stage. my friend and i were up on the balcony looking straight down at the stage, which was just perfect since we would've been pushed away from the stage during one of the opening acts if we'd stayed below. this guaranteed a perfect view for the entire set!

circle pit for between the buried and me. they weren't bad, had some cool heavy parts as seen below, but crowd wasn't terribly crazy.

here's a view of one of the pits for black dahlia. getting a little bit darker now, and they weren't bad either i suppose. crowd got a bit more into it, but it was nothing compared to how they reacted to CoB:

bodom sound check!! i was fucking pumped just seeing alexi's guitars and hearing them tuning jaska's kit:

they take the stage!!! holy mother of god it was phenomenal. i took a video of them tearing it up with FtR but sound is horrible. the rest of the time i was headbanging my ass off so i didn't get any other decent pics. i hope everyone else who goes has a fucking blast!

i was there also.. it was an amazing show.. now about the part about them partying and roope getting escorted by 3 police.. i do not think there was much truth in it.. roope looked really surprised when alexi said it. even if it was just to get the crowd going, it did its job pretty damn good. the songs were played flawlessly. and to add to it. it think Jaska busted a cymbal or stand or something. i noticed that one of the crew ran out and was changing it in the middle of one of the songs. haha

ya, checked off one of my life goals. The only problem is that I'm still def and my ears are still ringing. The concert was saturday

You mean Chokehold. Anyway, sounds awesome.
