Gigantour 2008; Megadeth, Children of Bodom, etc. confirmed

I was at the San Jose show too! Left side, right on the gate.

High on fire: Ok,

Job for cowboy: Was better than I expected, actually pretty good

COB .. THE BEST! :kickass: ( I wish they played Lobodomy and some more old songs tho)

In flames: Great, but they only played 2 of their old songs! I wanted to hear gyroscope, scorn, or colony.. Some guy was chanting colony.

Megadeth: Great too. Was very very loud compared to the other bands. My right ear is still ringing right now from Megadeth's set haha. I am very happy for Chris Broderick. I have been watching him as a guitarist for so long and all the hard work he's put into being a great guitar player. He's a great guy too. My favorite songs were Tornado of souls, Trust, Holy wars, Sweating bullets, Symphony of destruction and My darkest hour.

The best part of the night was that I was able to take a picture with Janne and Alexi while waiting in front of their tour bus.. Janne was walking out of the bus for a bit. Alexi was harder to get a pic. I waited for about 1.5 hours (it was ok for the wait because there were 3 other chics waiting with me ) and few requests to the tech guys and Janne going in and out of the tour bus. Alexi came out about 12:15 am I think.. I'll post the pics later (if I don't look funny hah, took 2 pics with Alexi just incase I blinked on the first pic)

Wut a nite! :headbang: COB :worship:

Hey I was at San Jose too. Seems like a lot of people from this forum where there. I was in front center for COB and it was kinda crazy, the mosh pits where a bit farther back but we were getting pushed around so hard I couldn't breath at times (I'm only 15 ok?). I'm not complaining of course, it was awesome. In Flames turned out to be my favorite, then COB, then Megadeth although they were all good. Megadeth would have been better but by that time I was farther back and something must have been wrong with the mic or something because you could barely hear the vocals except when he sang really loud. COB set was much too short and too little old stuff. I was glad they played Hate Me instead of Bodom After Midnight though. Also get rid of In Your Face and play some other AYDY song instead. I also agree with the guy talking about stage banter. Alexi didn't have much to say besides "fuck". Anders was pretty hilarious though. All together it was an awesome show.

^ sounds awesome. how rough was the crowd?

It was pretty rough in the center of the pit..

At the end of the show I heard someone got a concussion. I saw some kid during the show get carried away because I think he twisted his ankle or something.

I was right on the gate, left side of the stage, where it was very calm(no pushing or shoving) and I could enjoy the show and headbang (lol). Stayed at that position from the very beginning of the show till the end.

yeah i think during in flames i saw a girl get hit really hard and some guys were trying to get her out of there really fast, i don't know what happened exactly but it look like she got slammed in the head really hard and was passing out.
also i wish they had played bodom after midnight instead of hate me, i didn't even know that was something they were playing on the tour. i've seen and heard hate me so many times its honestly boring, bodom after midnight in full with no bodom beach terror mix would've been fucking amazing.

aww dude i wanted to get pics but i had a final the next day and didn't know when he was coming out! damnit man! was their tour bus right in front of the event center? :erk:

another thing that kinda worried me was everyone in the crowd of course knew the I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK MOTHER FUCKER or I DON'T GIVE A FUCK IF YOU HATE ME but no one seemed to know the lyrics or any of the parts in hate me other than that part or in downfall.

:kickass:

No, to get their bus, you had to get to the back of the event center and make a left and walk down a bit. It was by a little parking lot with a small structure with postings and ads on its walls.

After Megadeth, I was walking back and forth in the stadium looking like a psycho hah thinking if I should see if I should try to meet them. I decided what the heck( I traveled 2 hours from Sac) and walked to the back and saw some groups of people. I was by myself and decided to talk to these two kids. I was just hanging around them. Then eventually I saw Janne Warmen walk pass by me. I was too in shock to talk to him and let him pass by.

The two guys I was with decided to go where he was heading, and it turned out to be their tour bus.

By the time we got there, Janne was already in the bus, but came back out and I got a pic with him. Some girls then asked him to ask Alexi to come out. Like 40 minutes passed waiting. Some other groups of people gave up and left and eventually the two guys I was with left too. The people left were me and these 3 girls . One of the girls asked a tech to ask Alexi to come out. It was around 11:50 PM I think when she asked. The girls were talking to each other and were thinking about leaving, but I told them to not give up and eventually at 12:15 AM he came out! The rest is history! I wish I took a picture with Alexi, the 3 girls, and me in a group pic.

Well, don't worry. There's always other COB concerts. When they came to Sacramento, I decided to leave and thought they wouldn't come out after the show, and they did. I was depressed. Just find their bus right after the concert and stick around and ask the people going in and out their bus to see if they can convince a band member to come out! Good luck next time! I want to meet Henkka, Roope, and Jaska next time! :headbang:

Thanks for recording the Vid of the Michael Jackson part! Now I can remember the night (LOL at the OUT OF TUNE lady singing !)

I can't wait for their own tour with a larger setlist! They better play Lobodomy, Tie my rope, and Smile Pretty for the Devil!

I should of asked Alexi when I met him, if they can play their older material!! ARGH! Didn't think of it.... too shocked to be actually standing and seeing him right next to me in person. It was just the 3 girls, alexi, and me. Could have asked hiim loads, but he was probably pretty wasted or tired. He seemed really calm and mellow.

I dunno if you asked about older stuff he prolly would get annoyed, i dunno. I kinda wish i can just tell him to stop playing AYDY to make room for more HB and FTR haha...

what did you talk to him about anyway?

Just saw Bodom tonight at San Diego. They were great. Alexi had a rough start and ended up running off stage at the end of a song to go puke for a few minutes; felt bad for the guy hehe. But they were totally awesome; as was In Flames.

Set list for Bodom tonight was:

Sixpounder
Living Dead Beat
In Your Face
Bodom After Midnight (totally sweet!)
Hellhounds On My Trail
Angels Don't Kill
Blooddrunk
Downfall

Might have put a couple out of order, but anyway...it was totally awesome to see Bodom After Midnight. But was kind of sad to not see Hate Me!. Oh well. I'm going again tomorrow night in Long Beach so maybe they'll play it then hehe.

god dammit i wish i could trade you hate me for bodom after midnight, seeing that would be sick. but from what it sounds like they switch between those 2 songs every night so you probably will see hate me if you go to the next date.

Actually I didn't talk to him about anything. After we finished taking pictures. He said thanks for coming out and he went back in the bus. I know, pathetic of me haha. I didn't want to bother him too much because it already took a bit for him to come out. Next time I will talk more!

Janne was outside still with these 2 girls ( I assume they're some of the bands girlfriends) and a tech talking when I was leaving.

I was there. :)

Aw, I wish I had known you guys were gonna be there. Would've been cool to meet up or something.

For all we know we fell over each other in the mess of moshing during Bodom haha.

Replacing Bodom After Midnight with Silent Night, Bodom Night??? :D
!!!

Haha it was epic! Would've rather seen Hate Me! though =/

Just saw this on myspace. Bulletin update from Henkka.

Yo yo yo,
We are here in Arizona! It rains and it is like 60 degrees! Sweet.

Tomorrow flying home, and of course it sounds sleazy, but it is kind a sad,
such a funny and good people on this tour. And the whole package has pulled many people each night, which is amazing.

The other night in San Diego was bad for us though. During In Your Face our light console went down. So we played in almost complete darkness. Haha, that was weird, and difficult of course. And the rest of the show we got lights, but just basic bright ones and nothing moving pretty much. It felt like plaiyng in Youth Club's christmas party. But luckily the crowd didnt seem to care. We were just laughing and had good times.

Last days some of us caught Bronchitis , again, so its rough now! But as said, tonight is the last night!

Henkka

ugh Brochitis..not good. :erk: Hope they get well soon! :kickass:
