So finally the acoustic album is soon out and they've published one song from it to their GaySpace-site. The music sounds really good, but I miss Garm for the vocals, the vocal-lines are "not folk-enough" for me.

But still, damn, I'd really want to hear the whole thing already.

I've heard the album in its entirety, and I think it's safe to say that you'll enjoy it (although, as you've already stated, Garm would suit this album better than Vintersorg).

Damn you, give it to me. :u-huh:

This is really good stuff, very tranquil and beautiful. I'm a huge fan of Vintersorg obviously, so I dig the vocals too, but I think it would be a good idea to use the services of Lars Nedland a lot on this one and I hope they did. He has an absolutely stunning singing voice and I don't see why it isn't featured more.

Sort of has an international folk sound this song. It gives off an atmosphere of Asian, Native American and scandinavian sounds all in one. Pretty fitting.

Borknagar - Origin is awesome. Like it was said before - it's really beautiful...

Am I the only one who don´t like this album? The voice doesn´t fit to the music and the melody-lines are rather Pink Floyd-like than what I expected from a accoustic album of a metal band like Borknagar...

No, I like the music basically, but the vocals and the vocal-melodies...they don't fit, not "earthly" enough.

As this thread was bumbed, I listened this a lot again and I must say, that this record is actually very good music, only weak point is the vocals and they are very well performed, that's not the issue, but the fact that Garm would have ruled on this. By all means this is not the next Kveldsjanger, but still beat 95% of the current neo folk-bands*.

*does not include Neun Welten. :notworthy
