So my Firepod arrived in the mail from the USA yesterday and I picked up my monitors today.
Well, How much of a n00b do I feel again.
I thought I was getting somewhere with my guitar tone, but now it is back towards the drawing board. The Firepods Pre's seem a bit middier than the M-Audio and slightly less up top. I had some idea of what to EQ in and out, but now, :zombie:
However, I had greater success with today's samples than yesterdays with the Firepod. I cannot believe how different everything sounds on monitors compared to crappy computer speakers. Everything is so much clearer and more defined.
Thanks to all who answered my many question's (both PM and public) in relation to both the Firepod and the Yamaha's such as CJWall, DSS3, Moonlapse, GuitarGodgt and others. CJWall, your mixes sound fantastic on these monitors (your Septic Ashes mix
) and the vocals on Everybody's X's "While she's kneeling" sound brilliant (but hey they sounded nice on my crap PC speakers). I am in the process of listening to everybody's samples/mixes I have downloaded (and there are a few).
