Last night I was at the Priest/Anthrax show at Nation in Washington D.C. During Anthrax's set some guy/guys had a scuffle with John Bush which I honestly don't know much details about, even though I was on the first row. All I saw from my side of the stage was: Bush cussed at some guy/guys, the band stopped playing, Frankie Bello joined Bush in shouting back at the guy/guys and telling them "Come get some !!!". Finally, I saw Bush taking a blow at the guy/guys that I'm not sure landed on him/them.
This went on for like ten minutes while Scott Ian had the most shocked face I've ever seen. Scott just stood there, motionless, exactly as he was when the band stopped playing. He just couldn't believe what was going on. Security took the guy/guys away while Bush was telling us fans that remained there after such a spectacle, that one of the guys was a "pussy motherfucker", that they were "having a bad day" and that "he could take him". Some people screamed back in support, but mostly everyone was just in shock for what they had witnessed. The band went on and although they ripped as always, I think many were left with a sour taste, as Bush wasn't professional enough in a tense situation and ended up doing an Axl Rose/Seb Bach "I'm so tough" thing.
I've been an Anthrax fan since "Among", had seen and met Bush and think he's a VERY cool and pleasant guy, so I hope he doesn't fall as low again as he did last night. The guy that was acting like an asshole probably doesn't remember anything since he was most likely a drunk, but I doubt that the true fans that were there will forget Bush throwing punches and leaving a bad impression on an otherwise amazing set.
Thanks,
Madkill
P.S. I hope that John Bush hasn't been hanging out with Billy Milano, bad habits are contagious.
