hey so do you dudes forgive a band for making a stinker album? what i mean is that i know some people that the second a band releases a dud, they scream sellout, fagwipe, buttpuppet, etc. and forever hate the band.

i say bands are allowed to redeem themselves. and if they don't, the creative well ran dry and i'll thank them for prior services.

yes I let bands redeem themselves, I'm pretty gracious (AND hold a grudge, hmmmmm)

Queensryche though, I loved everything, UNTIL Hear in the now frontier. oh christ what crap.. then I gave them a chance with Q2k, and ok, it was a little better, I'll give them another chance.. then Tribe... um.. yeah, enough chances, as much as I want to hear Mindcrime 2, I will NOT rush out to the stores, in fact, I don't even know how bad i want to hear it anymore

Dream theater, bought everything from whenever I started listening up until Falling Into Infinity, I screamed sellout, but that album grew on me eventually, so Scenes from a memory came out, I forgave them (a bit), then the next one came out, ugh, that's enough from these guys. Heard the one after that, nope, not buying, then heard Octavarium.. and jeebus they keep getting worse.

Iced Earth - bought everything until the new one, I no longer care.


Primus and Type o, yeah said that earlier, they've redeemd themselves, I'm still on the line with Type O, but i look forward to something new.

I forgive bands for their lapses if it's just that...a temporary chucking of the muse. After the disappointment, I usually wait for the next one to see if it was just an anomaly and they're back to kicking ass (often prompting reevaluation of the stinker) or if the creativity has been permanently abandoned...then I can safely forget about buying unheard.

I definitely will let bands have a stinker and give them a chance to redeem themselves.
