Policy recap and preview of policy poster verbiage:

YES:
•Compact, prosumer, and SLR film and digital cameras are permitted
•Camera phones are permitted
•Small camera bags and small daypacks are permitted

NO:
•NO AUDIO OR VIDEO RECORDERS
•NO AUDIO OR VIDEO RECORDING WITH DIGITAL CAMERAS, CAMERA PHONES, OR DSLRS
•NO CAMERA EQUIPMENT THAT WILL MAKE YOU A SAFETY HAZARD:
•No massive lenses with DSLRs
•No tripods or monopods
•No hardshell camera cases, large camera backpacks, or camera cases on wheels
•No external flash units

Pre-emptive clarifications:
•Limitations on equipment and bags are relaxed for sponsors, but be aware that you don't have any place to securely stow camera bags, and tripods and monopods are still not permitted.
•High-power external flash units add to the bulk of the camera and obstruct view from behind you (and annoy the artists and audience if used improperly)
•Use of built-in flashes is fine
•Video recording in the lobby areas is fine.

Any further questions?

no one mess this up please, I am so stoked that we can use digital cameras this time. I am so tired of getting my film developed and all the heads being chopped off.

Heh... this reminds me of when I was at the Kennedy Space Center about a year ago, and there was one guy there with an SLR with a ridiculously massive lens who was going apeshit taking thousands of photos... at one point during the guided tour, this guy turned around, and slammed some other guy in the side of the head pretty hard with his gigantic lens. It was comically hilarious, especially in that the camera seemed to suffer more damage than the guy's head.
