never heard about the Kerry King thing.... as for the Metallica/MTV thing.. you keep saying they are respected in the music industry and such.. but if they are so respected by their labels/management etc.. don't they have the clout/power enough to say no we do not want these bands to be playing our songs but we do want our childhood heroes to play our songs and these are their names: Motorhead, Venom, Sabbath etc. whomever it may be.. but Avril Lavigne and the others did get to be chosen?... come on.. if you can't respect yourself by not voicing your opinion that you do not want these pop bands doing covers to honor you on TV then who the hell wants to respect you? ...

No because they didn't give a shit who was honoring them. They were just stoked that they were being honored. They are not that big of dickheads to say......NO THAT BAND SUCKS I DON"T WANT THEM AROUND MY MUSIC. That would be a bullshit move. They just went there, got honored by the bullshit MTV bands, then rocked the house at the end. Why do you give a fuck about that show so much. They were honored, leave it be. I was pumped for the show because I wanted to see Metallica play live, not the rest of those. MTV set it up. Who the fuck really cares? Did it offend you and piss you off that much? If so, then get a life.

Can Rick Rubin save Metallica? Well, I'll leave that answer up to everyone else because honestly I don't care. Just keep in mind that it's still Metallica that's writing these songs, not Rick.

To be honest metallica need to say fuck our lives and start drinking again. The band used to be depressed strung out losers. Metallica use to be confrontational with each other.
