anybody know much about these guys?

they seem to have just appeared and have released a fair few albums for Rise

i've used search and cant seem to find anything

i know theres going to be the obvious hate comments about the bands but im just interested in the production etc

apparently its 2 guys who had a bedroom studio and broke out and did this, but i dunno!

Well I know not many Sneapers are fans of Chango productions... but I am,
but production wise? I don't know. I thought Cameron used Peavy 5150 on his records for guitars but I could be wrong :)

i think the stuff is actually pretty cool. they have the perfect combo of outboard stuff, IMO.

all the drums (at least the OH's) sound programmed, though. holy shit are those OH's SO unnaturally wide on EVERY song...

maybe they mic each of the oh's seperately?

I've been watching some studio videos and it looks like he has at least 3 OH mic's going, basically spot micing as you said and not placed in any traditional a/b or spaced pair position.

sounds fucking good as hell...

cool to learn neither of them went to Full Sail.... surprising... i thought they were yet another spawn from this place but as it turns out, the majority of the most successful engineers don't have any 'traditional' education... ROCK

Yeah bro there is a huge difference in quality from "the tide" to "Birth.Eater". I actually really like the way "Birth.Eater" sounds.

I guess I like the Tide more because it was written diferently... but Birth.Eater is a great record, also production-wise...
but if you've heard the latest chango releases, Sleeping With Sirens, Woe Is Me and some unsigned bands... the drums sound spot on the same... and I think he throws away a little too much around 500Hz, making it miss some fullness.

I agree that the song's on "the tide" are better but the production on "Birth.Eater" is better. And i also agree that there drum tone's sound very similar on all there newer stuff. But hey they are doing something that works for them. And they also put out solid work from what i can tell.
