Children of Bodom: Are You Dead Yet?

Does Bodom have any fans over the age of 18?
If you're trying to imply Bodom are for "immature" listeners then you, sir, are a fucking moron. Yes, sadly a new wave of mall-metal kids has stumbled upon the glory of CoB, but that doesn't stop them being the greatest band ever to exist. I am 16, and have been listening to the band since I was about 14, and will never stop on account of them being the greatest thing I have ever heard. Sure, AYDY kinda sucks but look at the first 2 albums. They are sheer compositional masterpieces, and Follow the Reaper and HCDR nicely wrapped up the aggressive side of the band while maintaining their melodic qualities. Even though more recently the band have attracted more of a young "piss of your parents" following, they will forever be able to hold titles such as The Nail and Downfall to their name - which is definately music for more mature ears. End of ramble.

i like this cd, i mean its alot different then past works, but a few of the songs got some riffs that are really good, and then some that are like are you trying to make them boring, i dont know, it was an ok cd for me, they are awesome live thats for sure

Follow the Reaper is the best album they have released. AYDY, is in comparison, completely shit, as is Hatecrew Deathroll. They are good albums, but its the style in the first three albums that I favour more so than anything since.

Are you dead yet isnt a great album at all, to soft for the average CoB fan the riffs and solos are poorly written, the only good part of the album is the end.
Follow the reaper, Hatebreeder , Something wild are far supperior.

You could just have quoted what I put and '+1' :p

Hatebreeder > everything else they have done. The production is good, but they still kept a raw sound that made me think of the 90s. Also, all songs are great. No fillers

COB were always popular in Finland, now that metalcore is "in" and the band have met the style... they are thus extremely popular

Isn't it quite easy to have a high ranking on the Finnish charts? (By quite easy, of course, I am comparing this to the charts of other countries...) I doubt that the most widely prefered genre of music in Finland is metal -- in fact, it's never been that way in any country. It's just the demographic that is buying the records. For instance, bands like Nightwish, Norther, and Children of Bodom will rank pretty damn high on the Finnish charts, just because of the popularity they have within the demographic that is buying the records. This doesn't necessarily dictate how great the band is. (Though, Norther is one of my favorites...)
