Children of Bodom: Are You Dead Yet?

Isn't it quite easy to have a high ranking on the Finnish charts? (By quite easy, of course, I am comparing this to the charts of other countries...) I doubt that the most widely prefered genre of music in Finland is metal -- in fact, it's never been that way in any country. It's just the demographic that is buying the records. For instance, bands like Nightwish, Norther, and Children of Bodom will rank pretty damn high on the Finnish charts, just because of the popularity they have within the demographic that is buying the records. This doesn't necessarily dictate how great the band is. (Though, Norther is one of my favorites...)

Well there has been also many good bands in first blace.
Sentenced. Mokoma. Amorphis. öööh well yah:rolleyes:

Well your going to have wider views as a 30 year old man than you are as a 16 year old kid.
So I think it does mean something when listening to music.

I supose you're right, but I get the impression this guy thinks I don't know much about metal.. I listen to anything good from Vomitory to Rawhead Rexx, and I still think CoB are the best band on the planet, always have done.

well man thats your view and I respect it but I think otherwise their are to many good bands on the planet making good music so it almost impossible to even pick a favorite.

yes but, you'll get older and realize how wrong you were when you were young.

^retard

AYDY? is not their best, but still isn't shitty at all... is a little bit below standard...

the best songs from the record are In Your Face and Trashed, Lost & Strungout

Children of bodom has fucking potential, but this cd is disapointing. still pretty good, but I their older were much better

Bodom have not released a decent album since Follow the Reaper (which in itself was not the best album) I was sorely dissapointed with Hatecrew, and even moreso with this album... They need to return to form, their newer stuff is different, which is good, but lacking the creative drive their earlier work was brimming with... If your a fan of early Bodom, check out Imperanon

Older work was ALOT better.

I agree about having wider views when you're older, but I'm 31 and love the old COB. Some songs on HCDR are ok, but I haven't even bought AYDY. I've heard it, though. It isn't terrible, but it just sounds...I don't know. Maybe generic is the word I'm looking for. It isn't quite metalcore, but it's close. Also, the subject matter seems more like stuff that appeals to teen angst. That could explain all the kiddies at the show I just went to.

But, how could getting older make you stop liking the old stuff? I'm not talking about FTR, either. I do not consider that their best. SW and Hatebreeder are tied for the top spot. In my opinion, at least. But, if you count the live/ imports, I say Tokyo Warhearts kicks the crap out of all their studio albums.

I really enjoy that album too, the crowd seemed hot for it and everything flowed great. I wish they'd release a DVD of it

something wild is the best of their albums, the new stuff is amazing too though.
children of bodom are set apart from many other bands because they can all play like fuckin demons. to me it matters less that all their albums are amazing if they play better than others.

yous are also forgetting that in their older albums their composition style was very different, they wrote pieces rather than songs, more through composition and imitation than they use these days, they found a style and ran with it.

i like children of bodom and i like the song trashed lost and strungout but in your face is a good song...some idiots say bodom is going nu-metal and selling out...yeah-fuckin-right

They have simplified their sound for American popularity, there for they have slod out alittle bit.
