Classics Reborn

We can only hope! I don't know how that band is so popular. I honestly can't name one single song.

Obviously they are popular enough to headline a tour but I think they have more of a mainstream metal audience. They definitely aren't thrash or anything too heavy which might get them booed off a support slot for Megadeth but I think in this case they obviously have the pulling power to be where they are.

The band have always come across to me as wanna be rebels more about the image than the music. But then I've never listened to them and the longest I've paid attention to them was because the lead singer was on some custom car show when his bike broke down and the show's spokesperson tried to buy his bike.

This is so funny. Priest should be in because of their leather and studs!:tickled:
And I can't tell..is he insinuating that he should get in because he was there for two albums?
Who the fuck even cares.

I think he's insinuating that the band should be there and as a by product he'd be happy to accept the accolade, but only because the band deserve it, it's not about him. I'm sure it's not about him :)

I do like the way that he suggests they are all friends, but they still deleted his time with the band. Gotta love friends like that!

Oh yeah they're total shit can radio rock. It's all image. I'm surprised ( and if I'm honest disappointed) they are that big in Europe lol.

Lol! No! Never about Ripper! :p

Right?! He's all over the place with that band. And everything else it seems like. But what do ya expect from someone who is for some reason sponsored by Monster.

I'm not that surprised, there has been a lot of rock and hard rock come out of Europe over the years. The band Bad Wolves who is opening for the tour appears to have gotten popular world wide by doing a cover of the Cranberries song Zombie and releasing it only weeks after the Cranberries singer died. Then you've got bands like the Dead Daisies (who used to have an Aussie lead singer) that is a bit of a revolving door of members but can still headline gigs over in Europe. For all their thrash, speed, death etc that Europe created they seem to have also created and supported plenty of weaker alternatives.

I'm actually surprised it took Blabber a few days to find him making a comment about the RNRHOF :)

Well now that JP wont get into the HOF this year, and they've probably done their dash for next year as well, Ripper can go back to his KK worship rather than being friends with the whole band. That ought to be a relief for him.

I'm surprised he didn't do a turnaround in the same interview.

Well...I guess I'm not so surprised at how big they are (still disappointed) there as I am surprised that Megadeth can't do a big headline gig there.

Jnr said something like "it made sense to tour with FFDP because they have the crowds". That says to me they want FFDP's crowds, which is stranger than being miss-billed. Why the hell would they want such an audience when they have their own loyal fan base.

To me this is all about Dave's recovery. Put 'Deth as the support act and a lot of pressure is off Dave. They'd have a shorter set and a crowd that might not be all diehard 'deth fans therefore easier to wear if he wasn't up to it. Given this tour was announced before they knew how Dave was going to handle it I reckon there is a lot of 'test case' about the tour.

FFDP are just the patsy party that Megadeth chose in case they had to pull out Jnr was just being polite in the press.

He was with JP for two years at which time their world tours didn't even include Australia and New Zealand yet he's toured more without them?

Welll FUCKING DEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRR

Mind you I did take his advice. I Googled him and the first response was "Google doesn't care, here have a picture of some cats!"

The kicker is that Rob is a cat fanatic, so not only has Tim's career been removed from history it had been replaced with Rob's favourite animal.
