you should buy it because it is awesome. no idea if the sequel is any good

I'm not seeing nearly enough love for Phantasy Star here. Especially number 2.
hell yeah

Played 4 hours of Chrono Trigger at work yesterday, does this game pick up at all? The combat system is brain dead easy, didn't come close to dying once. I can let that slide if the storyline was more engaging, but it seems like it was written by 12 year olds, for 12 year olds. My standard bearer when it comes to RPGs is Suikoden 1-2, which has intriguing heroes/villains, a well written storyline, and a reasonably engaging combat system. Chrono just seems heavily dated, where as I went through Suikoden 2 just 4 years ago and had a swell time until I actually got stuck 80% of the way through. I'm currently in the future, rummaging through some ruins, and don't really give a whole hell of lot towards continuing. I shook my noggin when Chrono is put on trial for allegedly kidnapping the princess after she pretty much prostituted herself to him for companionship. Just a completely mediocre story. Final Fantasy VII, FF Tactics, Suikoden, Wild Arms, etcetera all shite on this thus far.

That’s the part where I uninstalled the game.

Breath of Fire, Lufia, Suikoden were ok at the time I played them (when I was 15 or sth) but the world NEEDS a mastodonte 2D RPG again!
