I don't know why Emperor is fellated as much as they are on this board. I find nothing overtly special about any of the stuff I've heard from them (ITNE, Emperor/WOTT, Prometheus)

Yeah, I havent really understood their greatness. I usually can appreciate them in small doses but often grow tired of their stuff if Im listening to a whole album. I still like "prometheus" the best and I have now given all their albums a fair chance. But then again I would probaly choose Ihsahns solo stuff over anything Emperor did.

I think In The Nightside Eclipse often has an otherwordly atmosphere in it's riffs that Anthems doesn't have.
A good example of what i mean can be heard 01:08-01:11 here,it sounds like the music is sighing,Nightside is full of stuff like that,and i think it all sounds so natural like it was supposed to sound like that. Anthems in many ways is it's antithesis for me,often sounds too constructed and thought out.

"Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk" is the best Emperor release in my opinion.

It's my favorite too, but I can easily see someone arguing for another one. In the Nightside Eclipse is my second favorite.

Are there any high vocals you like? It seems to me that you listen to your music based on non-musical factors, like how 'gay' you think the sound is.
