Actually Cancer is better than both Carcass and Benediction. I'm not that well versed in the Bolt Thrower discography so I can't say anything about them.

1) Nope.
2) The thing about Nu-metal most people don't realize is that it is totally different from rap-rock (which is Shrimp Bisquick and *nsync 'n' Park). Nu-metal is correctly identified as KoRn, Coal Chamber, Spineshank, Deftones, and Soulfly, et al. Certain albums by Machine Head, Fear Factory, and of course Sepultura (Roots) also qualify. As far as merit, that would go to the aforementioned Deftones and Soulfly, along with Sevendust for the most part.
