The only thing that kept me from going off the edge was:

ok at the risk of this sounding like one of those cheesy academy awards speeches:

Thankyou to Mike, Russ, Mike, Jason and Mike for giving the forum a second chance, and mostly, thankyou Jax for fighting to keep it alive.

I think pretty much everyone, at least the regs to this board hold the band in the utmost regard and would never do anything (intentionally at least) to cause disrespect to Symphony X or any other band in a way that would jeopardise SyX's reputation.

So hopefully we've all learned from this close call to stop the flaming wars and stop spreading rumours and anything else to cause friction here.

And again, thankyou thankyou!

First, let me say that I'm glad that I was spared from those horrible moments of despair during which the perception was that the SX forum was really closed forever. As I've just discovered the entire story at this moment(that it was closed and then reopened), I must say- (*whew*) what a tumultuous and gut-wrenching close call. I feel strangely fortunate and less apt to take this message board for granted now.

My guess is that besides ridiculous and immature posts, all the Devin bashing, the early leakage about the Special Edition first four albums, and the unrelenting insistence on the part of certain forum members to download "Frontiers" at all costs led to this near-shutdown. And I think this should all be kept in mind.

Now let me fervently say THANK YOU to the band members and to Jax for allowing the board to live. I am truly grateful as I absolutely treasure Symphony X and enjoy posting on this bulletin board more than any other.
I only hope the forum can stay respectable.
