Which quick key/short cut saves you minutes or hours? Is it a native shortcut or did you create it yourself?

Mine is simple i use the number keys (not numercial pad) to constantly switch between tools = saves a lot of mouse back & forth!

I program V for midi velocity. I must alter this 1000 times a session when I'm programming drums. I love midi in Cubase.

I´ve created only two:

Ctrl + Enter = Audio Mixdown
Ctrl + ; = Return to Start Position on Stop.

You can set the default playhead behaviour to return to start position on stop under the preferences -> transport panel.

I took a page out of Joey's book and changed the slip tool to just alt key, instead of ctrl + alt. Now I just hold alt, click to cut, click/drag to slip.

I also changed my record start (traditionally * on the numpad) to ctrl + space - feels more natural for some reason; I don't have to move my hand around after a stop/undo combo, and there's no numpad on my laptop.

yep, i think i Crtl S in my sleep ! Paranoid i guess....

For drum editing i just set the prefs for double click on the midi track to open up the drum editor.

No longer need F3 (mixer) as i am now running dual screen.

Crtl + shift + T for new audio track and Crtl + shift + I for import audio. Not sure if these exist or i created them....

...again how does Velocity short cut work? can you type in the vel. number on selected hits?

Hmm, you told me about this a while back but I have yet to try it. I think I'm just going to go through all of Joey's posts and compile all of the tips he has given. His snare EQ and compression starting points really changed how I go about snare sounds. I feel, after using his tips, that I have been able to get the snare sounds I have been wanting to get.

I'm also curious about the Ctrl+V thing Splatt mentioned. I program a lot of drums myself, what exactly does the command do Splatt?

I actually just assign V, not control V to bring up the velocity window that controls add/subtract, compress/expand, and limit. I use this tool more than any other especially when I'm transferring midi beats to use in Superior 2.0 and I need to change the velocities of individual kit pieces to make things as natural and real sounding as possible.
