Baroness...Another fucking amazing band that I caught with Bison. My face got melted off.. I keep hearing them get compared to Mastodon a lot, but I honestly think they are so much better than them and even this video doesn't do them justice. Seriously, get their album called, The Red Album. You won't regret it.

not bad.
they didnt grab me straight off, but i wasnt repulsed by them, either. i'll have to dabble and see what else i can find. i can see them as one of those bands that 'grow' on me [unlike Mastadon].

LOVE Monster Magnet! One little thing (and not the bands fault), most people only remember their MTV moment with "Space Lord", and although "Powertrip" is a killer record, all their albums are quality stuff. Hard to pick a favorite, but I'd go with "Monolithic Baby!"

i liked 'Monolithic Baby,' but i couldnt find as much that i liked about it.

OK... i've been hearing murmurings about Dave Wyndorf's weight, but i havent seen him in a long while, so i had no idea what kind of weight everybody has been going on about.

take into account that this guy had a body and a look that just screamed, 'SLEAZY SEX' and then look at the 'new' Wyndorf.

I saw Monster Magnet back in 93' when they opened for White Zombie in Buffalo. They put on a great show.

i dont know about a relapse. the last i heard was that he was putting blame [at least, partially] on drugs he was taking to aid in his recovery with his weight gain. otherwise, i dunno... he says he's 'on the way back,' though, so maybe he's trying to cut the weight.
