active PUs provide a much cleaner sound

mids: 9
treble: 7

Active pickups do not give a cleaner sound, also you have to replace batteries and change pots and all that crap, they sound so stale and have no tone at all.
EMG make some of the worst pickups i have ever heard.

okay i think everyone is using the word "clean" in the wrong context. Clean means you are playing with no distortion.. dirty mean you are playing with distortion... the word you are looking for i believe is clear sounding...

which in that case.... dimarzio...

the only thing that emgs do well is pick up pinch harmonics... otherwise they blow cock...
