Thanks Joey...got these samples yesterday and within minutes I was able to blend it perfectly with my kit. I've always been unhappy with my snare sound and this totally fixed it.

a crack hit is a rimshot (tip hits head, shaft hits rim)

its called a "crack" which is a descriptive term for what it sounds like

"that snare has a well proper wicked crack, mate" -someone from england

"that snare has a sick crack to it" -someone in a american metalcore band
