so i was watching this car commercial that featured on of the main surf players. i forget his name but chances are you US folk have seen this commercial. anyways. the song he played is a pretty classic surf song, and ofcourse i dont remember the name either. and i couldnt help but notice the similarities. single string tremolo picking that just seemed so very DM. ill lay out the tab for you guys so you get my drift

also, on a side note. i was in a band once, we were really shitty, but alot of people said we had a surf vibe. it was really wierd, i never heard it, but i guess we had it hehehe.

I know what you mean. That style of fast single note picking. If some surf riffs were in a minor scale and had disortion they would sound like dm riffs.
