Thats not true there are a million dark throne and empeor clones. And alot of death metal bands sound the same. This is why there are genres. Because dark throne doest sound like cannibal corpse

Heh, well, I think of thrash as the really fast shit, death and black to be similar except black is perhaps darker...maybe slower...growlier (not sure if thats a word)....actually I have no fucking idea....oh well....

Actually Guardian you're quite off track there. black metal can be very brutal in terms of speed. Vocals are often screamed or screeched but you can find some growls in black metal and also some black metal bands are more into the atmospheric sound (with strings and synth sounds) while others are on the speed side. The lyrical theme is often speudo satanism or nordic pagan cults but this can vary and the bands have an anti-religion image. oh and btw the production pretty much sucks :lol:

Death metal- The vocals can vary from screams to a very low gutural growls. Death metal bands are often chaotic and into the speed side without any atmosphere whatsoever and the music can be very very simple but also can be very demanding and technical. Lyrical theme is often gore, spycho minds, death among other subjects.

I hope I explained it well :D

Matchbox 20=gay rock
Coldplay=whiny rock crapola
Nickelback=wannabe rock
Staind=sweaty bald rock
The Strokes=white afro boredom rock
The Vines=sleepy fagorama rock

thought I categorize some cool bands instead of all these Satanic metal bands you guys always chat about.:grin:

sub genres are gay....if you say you listen to metal...listen to all of it...every single "genre" of metal influences another....which keeps it growing and evolving into another sound...which could make it better or worse....

but please...

METAL IS METAL...

Once aggain there is a point for genres. Weather you want to use them or not its your choice. Power metal compared to Doom Metal Compared to Black Metal. There is a world of diffrence in all of these. Its like a diffrent music style in each genre.

There is a point for genres, if you want bands similar to one you already like. However, all this sub-genre bullshit is just going too far, and like I said before, you may as well just label every band a different genre.

Are you fucking kidding me?? No atmosphere whatsoever?? You're a joke. Listen to some Immolation, Brutality, Disincarnate, and either era of Gorguts, among others. Then try explaining to everyone here why you have a foot stuck firmly in your mouth.

Ok why would you label Vader and Immolation in a diffrent genre? What is the huge diffrence that they should be each in there own.

Well, Vader might be blackdeathdarkcoresubdoom and Immolation might be blackcoredoomdarksubdoomcore?:grin: I can imagine it going that far....:eek:

no they are both just death metal, they sound nothing like black or "dark core" as i said there are alot of bands that sound very similar, Nile sounds exactly like Vader almost. Its not a bad thing its because its the same style of music,

It was just an example.....the point I am trying to make is that we should either have genres which are accurate and not hugely similar, or not have genres at all. But not have sub-sub genres because it then begins to get ridiculous. Perhaps you don't agree....

No strings or symphonic atmosphere whatsoever:rolleyes: that's what I meant now shut the fuck up and run along :rolleyes:

Oh and btw maybe if didn't talk out of your ass you would notice that the description that I gave is general and there are some exceptions :rolleyes: Nile has atmosphere in some songs but I didn't mention that because in Death metal that's not common :rolleyes: the same thing with Deicide they are death metal but their lyrical theme doesn't apply to most death metal bands :rolleyes: next time shut up or ask before talking out of your ass :rolleyes:

Ok what's the huge the similarity between death and black metal? in your opinion?

Gaurdian.. sub genres are also important. For example in black metal lets take two bands on the same label. Napelm, ok Abigor and Summoning. Abigor is very raw, fast, and techniqule. Summoning is slow, atmosphric, and has female vocals along with alot of keyboards and extoic sounds. One is raw black metal, the other is atmosphric black metal, do you under stand it sort of now? Like in death metal we have Opeth, and then we have Exhumed, two very diffrent style of bands but both death metal.
