Democrat wants to renew draft

7-11 is like an Autogrill but they are found all across the US in cities. You can buy cigarettes, beer, crappy food, and 2 liter cups of the soft drink of your choice to give you enough sugar to power the space shuttle.

Not familiar with Wawa, either. Is it just a convenience store or does it have some other facet that makes it own all the rest?

7/11 sells beer down there? Bastards.

EDIT: Then again, booze down there is so much cheaper than it is up here... we get taxed on all of our beer and booze. a 6 pack usually costs around $15.

Wawa has gas, deli, hoagies, premade food (hot and cold), chips, slushies, milk shakes, candy, hot fries and more.
Everything 7-11 has plus twice as much.

That's awesome...sounds like Autogrill. Autogrill is basically a truckstop but not in the dirty trucker kind of way. They have all kinds of food, porn, movies, cds, magazines, toys, groceries, etc. But then again, it's on the Autostrada. I'd much rather have something like Wawa.

I'm American but I live in Italy. The government is a lot like any other democracy with a parliament. There are better social programs here, though, such as transportation, health care, etc. It's BY FAR not perfect and taxes are a little higher but the average person's life is much better. There are some things that are a little frustrating and not as convenient as the US, but really, really really minor things like no 24 hour 7-11s and such. Again, something this minor doesn't even figure into the argument.

But the absence of some conveniences is actually a good thing sometimes, such as THERE ARE NO WAL-MARTS here. I hate Wal-Mart. Same thing with that coffee abortion franchise Starbuck's.

Cappuccini don't have different flavors. It's a fucking cappuccino. Starbuck's is like melting Brach's caramels in a cup and putting hot water in it and drinking it.

haha yea, youre right about the cappucino/coffee point. its funny most americans think coffee is what they see at starbucks or dunkin donuts when it's nothing like it. im american as well, and thinking about living in italy because i have a woman there who i might marry. the same things hav e gone through my mind if i decided to live there....no 24/7 stores, the TV shows suck (no american sports) etc. basically everything that i would like to have doesnt exist there, but at the same time those things dont really matter in life so im sure id get over it. it's a beautiful country.

one thing you have to say though is that while you might hate war and be against the draft, italy has a mandatory military service for its citizens, doesnt it?

yours is an interesting story. ill pm you in a bit for more of it.
