I really need to buy a collection of Yeats.

I always loved this one

Indignant at the fumbling wits, the obscure spite
Of our old Paudeen in his shop, I stumbled blind
Among the stones and thorn trees, under morning light;
Until a curlew cried and in the luminous wind
A curlew answered; and suddenly thereupon I thought
That on the lonely height where all are in God’s eye,
There cannot be, confusion of our sound forgot,
A single soul that lacks a sweet crystaline cry.

and this one

Now as at all times I can see in the mind’s eye,
In their stiff, painted clothes, the pale unsatisfied ones
Appear and disappear in the blue depth of the sky
With all their ancient faces like rain-beaten stones,
And all their helms of silver hovering side by side,
And all their eyes still fixed, hoping to find once more,
Being by Calvary’s turbulence unsatisfied,
The uncontrollable mystery on the bestial floor.

or how about... "not mooching off my parents"... "can afford to not be krigloch"... "work for anyone as long as its not in a city" and "straight lines are slow because you get stuck behind old asian ladies"

Hey, now you have material for a 1,000 page book

I don't think you got my joke, I wasn't making any judgement on you, just the crappy book Atlas Shrugged (she mentions all that stuff as being very important)

EDIT: and I assume "mooching off my parents" refers to me? I have a job, peckerwood, and I go to a pretty inexpensive public university. Granted my parents pay for most, but I think they'd rather see me get my college degree than immediately start working in a furniture factory as soon as I was out of high school.

haha, not really. I just don't have enough time in my day to devote to thinking that isn't directly related to the next 6 months. When school is done, that will probably change.

edit: and aye, i didn't get it, never read the book. For reasons I mentioned :p

Well hopefully I've saved you that trouble.

Damn, I have a really busy time ahead the next few months too. Thanks for reminding me :(

haha, this is normal workload, the next 2 weeks are going to be really bad... skills exams for both courses next week + finals.... so I have a whoooooooooooooooooole pile of EXTRA reading to do, on top of keeping on top of the new material that we cover this week.

The existence of RC probably doesn't help you either

if it wasn't RC then i'd be wasting my time somewhere else. Probably a virus filled porn site or like... the vn boards or blabbermouth or some other den of shite.

Leave?!? Well he's not technically here, is he? :p

Yeah. Most of my time here is done between bouts of studying or hours when I would have been just laying around.

Some, like William Blake, would argue that there are many senses we do not perceive yet:

"How do you know but that every bird that cleaves the aerial way is not an immense world of delight closed to your senses five?"

I'll be honest, Im eagerly awaiting the next reply from Mr. Acai here. It will be interesting to see if he can actually produce a valid point.

"The body does indeed sing with electricity, which the mind deftly analyzes and considers. So, to some extent, reality is an agreed-upon fiction. How silly, then, that philosophers should quarrel about appearance and reality."

Look for a reply where he does some or all of the following:
1) Insults me personally
2) Gives me some re-hashed Randite jargon filled with the words "collective," "freeloader" and "achievement."
3) Has a lot of misspellings and useless comparisons.
4) Ducks the argument once again, never actually trying to refute anything specific.
5) Generally adds to his exposé on ignorance.

Yea Im really not seeing any kind of rebuttle to your points in his initial post, its really just a series of cheap shots. The last sentence in particular.....give me a break. I've always subconciously placed Rand worshipers in the same catagorey as groups like scientology, the Raelians, etc.
