We don't have cable.

Man, I just picked up one of those Digital to Analog converter boxes and hooked it up with the same crappy antenna I had before and WOW! All of the channels I get are perfect. No more watching 24 through the snow. WooHoo!

AW CRAP! Sorry mods, please move this.

It's a lot cheaper then paying 30-40 bucks a month. Espicially if you don't use it a lot.

We still haven't gotten our coupon yet for the box, but hopefully we will have it soon. Also did you get more channels?

Got that right!

We got a few more channels. Like our CBS station also has a weather station, and had something called The Tube, which I think was music videos, but all it has was a "sign" that said The Tube was no more. Our PBS had like 3 more extra channels. We are actually lacking one channel, which is the CW channel. I heard that if the reception is too weak, you just won't see anything. I plan to look into it and see if anything can be done.

The converter we got is a DigitalStream DTX9950 (made by NHENS I guess). Got it at Radio Shack. So far it works well.

nice.

Hope it won't be too much longer.

I hear that some antennas can give better results than others, and not necessarily the more expensive ones. In my case I have the cheapest one on the box now, so I will probably try one of my other antennas to see if I can get any more channels.

I work for the cable company(Comcast) and yes they have hard drives in them. You can tell because they are significantly heavier then a normal HD box.

We have cable but the bedroom TV's don't, so we have to get them anyways. Comcast gives us two free ones though
