Just out of interest, what's the standard pronunciation for "warrior" in the US? In the UK it's like war-Rior with a definite "R" at the start of the second syllable, but I hear it in US films and tv like war-ior sometimes.
 
Hmm, it depends on where you are in the US. Most people just say it like how it's spelled, but if you're in Boston or some other place it'd be pronounced like "wah-riah" :ill:
 
erm.. tons of difference!

the way NZ's pronounce their vowels is really different, for example.. for us to say 'six', they pronounce 'sex' - 'head' in aussie speak is 'hid' in NZ speak etc.

I think the american way of trying to speak Aussie is really funny - it sounds like a cross between NZ/Sth African.. the best way to try and think of how an Aussie would say something, is think of how a Boston person would say it, and put a slight english accent on that.. (practice with saying 'park the car')
