How are you going to measure the percentage of metal of an album? Are there any objective criteria?I think roughly 50% of the album needs to be metal to qualify.

I'll allow Celtic Frostif rush counts then loads of heavy psych and proto-metal 'n shit should totally count
i think celtic frost should count if only because i think they get short shrift for being eligible for too many categories

Which criteria determine when metal begins and when it stops? I'm aware that there's a device called "metal detector", but I'm afraid it won't work in this context.Listen to the album with a stop-watch and stop every time the metal stops and start every time the metal begins. At the end divide the length on the stop watch by the total length of the album. It the number is .5 or greater, the album qualifies.

I hope the only reason you're saying DP wouldnt be "allowed" in this list is because they were already included in one if the other lists.Well then Krow needs to restate what he means. If any band on MA is eligible, then you include Rush, DP and Alice in Chains.
I wouldn't allow any of those so I'm just arguing over semantics at this point.
RATM doesn't count to me. That Bathory album being included is up to debate for you all. I personally think that shouldve gone in the black metal thread but Bathory does cross genres tons of times..
