I like their first two albums. And Alice in Chains are indeed incredible. Can't get into the first album, but Jar of Flies and Dirt are both amazing.

I was really bored by "10" when it came out cept for "Evenflow", but having a Pearl Jam-obsessed roommate in college made me appreciate their later material. It's really not that bad.

someone just asked me to explain why i like PJ, and it dawned on me that it was due to EV's voice and actually the lyrics. i think the lyrics, from what i know of them, are pretty good.

i stopped at versus, though. the vitalogy (sp?) stuff really didn't do it for me.

"Alive" will always have a special place in my heart because it became popular as I was in a particularly rough patch of life.

what I mean about Vedder is that, much like Robert Plant in the 70s, dozens of bands used them as a template for their vocalists.
