Does anyone sing anymore?

I think you guys are jealous because my generations singers kick the crap out of your fag boy cookie cutter so called vocalists. Name one of your muppet's that can compete with the likes of Dio, Dickenson, Tate. Problem is you cant.

Is that the best you can do Drew Drummer? Show me a picture of Frodo? When you cant compete, you ridicule. Typical of generation whiner.

Please keep the whole generation whining crap out of here. No-one ever said anything about generations. No-one's calling you a sad old fart with your sepia-coloured, stained polaroid pictures, so there's no need to pull the "you youngsters are just jealous" card out of nowhere.

That's a bit of a hostile attitude you got there, it won't get you very far here.

It's fucking funny, because I don't generally listen to screamy bands - the most screamy I get is something like ISIS or Cult Of Luna!! Plenty of actual singing in those bands too.

My favourite vocalists - Mike Patton, Maynard James Keenan, Aaron Turner, John Frusciante, Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Pete Loeffler, Brendan Perry, Josh Homme.

So yeah.... go fuck yourself you opinionated old cunt.

Bands with vocals are overrated, the only REAL bands are the ones with all ride unicycles while playing 20 minute accordion solos while dosing up on powerful hallucinogens and receiving visions from the earth mother saying "YOU ARE THE LAST TRUE TRIANGLE OF THE AGES, GO FORTH AND SPREAD GREEK YOGURT TO THE IGNORANT MASSES, BUT ONLY WITH A DASH OF HONEY!!!!!"

It reminds me of an interview I heard in the radio while driving once. The guy was saying nothing has ever reached the sonic perfection of 30's jazzband sound and its musicians, musicallly AND on an audioproduction level, and that since then, it has always went down and for him loudness/compression/music quality war was already a problem in the 50's. Of course he was a 30's-ish jazzband musician. Subjectivity...

That's just so bullshit (well, not your point, which I agree with, but what he said).

Well said.

Thoughts I had when I read this..

"Scream" type vocals are very difficult to do really well.

"Singing" type vocals are very difficult to do really well.

I think that I do both of them fairly well for someone that doesn't consider themselves a vocalist primarily or even secondarily.

I use both of them in the music for the same reason I don't take every cymbal with the exception of the china off my studio drum kit.

Cheers.

But seriously. You sound like a five year old. Give it up.

Then stop listening to "all that screaming crap"

I think that's quite a bold statement. You think Andy's still doing what he does because he thinks like that?

They switched from making albums and touring with their bands to... well, making albums and touring with their bands.

Sorry for sounding like a dick, but this is a horribly stupid rant.

+1 to all of this

Threads opened by cunts should be closed by cocks.

And this too

Really though, if you don't like it, don't listen to it

HOW DARE ANYONE EXPRESS THEMSELVES IN A WAY I DO NOT PERSONALLY CONNECT WITH!!! YOU SHOULD ALL BE ASHAMED!!!!!!!!!!!

Its worse than this guy just whining; he doesn't get music. Screaming is a form of expression. Singing is a form of expression. Music is expression.

Exactly that.

The new Protest the Hero CD is a pretty excellent example of a recent band that has a truly unique and incredibly talented singer.

woah dude we were on a roll here! Dont fuck it up!

;)

Daryl Palumbo just popped in my head as a great example of someone who is almost totally unique.
