There are good and shit bands in every era/generation. Hey Paladin, here's a band that knows how to make music, and, Cyril, this guitar player is better than Joe Walsh, Robby Kreiger and Gary Ritchrath.

Cyril, I can't believe you used those mediocre guitar palyers as examples
Robby Kreiger - The Doors era 1966 to 1970 (Good expresive playing but sloppy - used fingers instead of pick)
Better Guitar Players of that era -- Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Hendrix
Joe walsh - James Gang, Eagles, Joe Walsh Band - era 1968 - 1977 (great melodic guitar player, i,e. "Hotel California" solo, but no shredder
Better Guitar players of that era -- Jimmy Page, Carlos Santana, Ritchie Blackmore
Gary Ritchrath - REO Speedwagon - era 1975 to 1985 (Only slightly better than Neil Young on Solos)
Better Guitar players of the era (Too many to mention) was fired from the band he helped create
surprise! This thread was joke

This is the best thread ever!!
I have to tell ya' Mr. P. shredder, you really out did yourself on this one. I am awestruck with your literary prowess.
Be sure to invite me to your 13th birthday ok??
I will totally be there!
I Know - what's better, an apple or an orange - Judging a guitar player, or music in general, is all subjective, but you better do a little research before you dump on Revovation's guitar player. He comes from a jazz background, and probably smokes as a blues player.
From wiki
Music critics have pointed out that Davidson's guitar playing style is the prominent aspect of Revocation's sound.[1][7] Exclaim! magazine described Davidson's dexterous guitar work saying, "Generally speaking, most bands with mechanical flair and overwrought solos tend to be interesting for about three seconds. That's as long as it takes to understand that some guitar slinger dominates the band, spent his youth wanking instead of hanging out and now uses his talent to impress other six-stringers."[6] Davidson developed his playing technique by attending the Berklee College of Music, where he focused on polyrhythm for jazz.[1] This musical education brought him a expertise in both playing and songwriting, while "some of the atonal aspects of jazz gave him a different perspective on composing and soloing."[8]
Young and Dumb, hah?
I wouldn't go head-to-head with me on music history, or I would have to tell you things like - Scott Joplin was the first pianist to encorperate honky-tonk with classical, or Iron Butterfly was the first heavy metal band, or the Monkeys were the fist band to use the Moog Synthesizer.
