With the new 355 extension it's much much much closer now but it's still probably a good 45 minutes to an hour drive.

For all of you out of towners that are looking for a great CD store I highly recommend Impulse music. It's by far the best CD store in the Chicagoland area for power/progressive metal.

yeah, Haven has a decent size Doom section. Plus a great selection of folk / pagan stuff.

But they have 75 copies of the latest Black N Blue reissue or greatest hits package and as many or more Hardline DVDs... how can you go wrong?

I agree! Metal Haven is great on Doom, Death, Black, and Thrash amongst other things.

Impulse Music has always been about Power Metal, Hair Metal, and Melodic Rock. Since 1996 nothing has changed except the band names.
