DR. X has been named for Mindcrime II

This does not sound encouraging. Anybody else sick of always getting their hopes up where QR is concerned?

Nope. I got over any hope for QR a few albums ago. Now I just consider them one more band. If Metallica can die a slow death, musically speaking, then anyone can. QR is right there with them, although I still plan to listen to the new one and give it a chance. If I like it, I'll buy it.

Dangit, I want so much to like this CD, too. Mindcrime is what got me into 'good' metal to stay.

I was a big fan, back in the day. I note the onetime editor/dude in charge of the old Screaming In Digital mail-group kinda walked away from them, too.

A friend who belongs to the fan club logged in and let me hear I'm An American last night. Not bad, but I hope the rest of it is better. Again, I'll wait to hear the entire album before I decide altogether.

Speaking of the fan club, a couple of sheeps even dragged Dream Theater into this. I don't understand that one. One guy said Mike Portnoy is probably posting on this board in disguise o_O and some other sheepie said DT wishes they were as good as QR. WTF does Dream Theater have to do with the fact that QR have seen better days ? Next thing you know these dipshits will claim that the government is conspiring against Queensryche from making a comeback or that Chris DeGarmo is really posing as someone on this board. :D

Me too. I just don't think I will like it, though.

Better to get a burned copy though. How many times can you keep getting burned by a band before you just friggin' walk away?

You people thinking that DeGarmo would solve all of Queensryche's musical problems are forgetting one thing. The proven mantra of musicians is that when they are the hungriest (usually poorest), then they are the most creative. DeGarmo wrote all of "Silent Lucidity", so he has royalty checks coming to him for the rest of his life. Not to mention all the money he got when that song was huge. How many singles do you think were sold of SL when it was going strong? He has money to burn I'm sure and that is why the songs on Tribe were unispired. So is he.

Finally spun this yesterday... I have to say I like "I'm an American" better than I did live, but I was also trying to figure out where the "better" songs towards the middle were. :b I spent a lot of my time with an eyebrow cocked and a questioning look on my face... I will listen to it a few more times before rendering a final verdict, but they never should have tried to make a follow-up to that album, even back when they were still "good" IMO. Even then, they were not in the same place as in '87-'88, and, besides, why fix it if it ain't broke?

I did the same...not necessarily WhatTF moments on the disc, but WhyTF moments. I won't go into detail.
As l remember it, l definitely had WhatTF moments with OP I. I had give that one a few listens before it sank in on me. Of course, it's a classic now & in my top 5 of all time.

I am one of those people that loved queensryche from the very first listen. I remeber the exact time and place that I heard the Lady Wore Black. klol in houston played it while I was driving around and introduced it as a new band. Nobody knew who they were. I was floored. And the rest as they say was history. That was until they came out with Hear in the now frontier. WTF was that. Then more crap and more crap............it was a sad day.

I too hope for what my friend calls the second coming. Is this it. I can't with good intentions say yes it is. But I think it is a good start. It is better than anything since Promise Land. That's not saying much but I think to expect the second coming is expecting too much. They may never get there again, but at one time, they were the badest mother truckers around!

Man I have always loved ryce and have even found myself listening to the albums later on in their carreer that people mostly think suck. I think they are okay and because of my liking them so much, i prolly dream away that the discs are good out of respect i guess.

But this........OP2.....ouch....The title should just be taken off cause i find next to no elements from the first...This is just plain boring and i put it on the level of Tates solo....ouch

Man im disappointed....:yell: :yuk:
