I love the mix by Michael Brauer. Not so "metal" but still heavy. Refreshing in DT's catalog.
Plus his use of fx, especially delays.. yum yum. Verses of These Walls is a good example.

All i listened to for 2 years was Petrucci riffs haha, as i am is the only song I can play some of as well lol

In The name Of God is awesome as well though, it goes through so many cool sections.

Used to be a huge fan of DT, I still LOVE I&W and A Change of Seasons, the rest is meh, Octavarium is alright.

I can't really enjoy much DT from SFAM onwards really. There's a few good songs here and there, but for the most part SFAM onwards just sounds like the band trying to be as "prog" as possible and forgetting how to just write music that doesn't sound bloated and over done.
Images and Words, and Awake are where it's at really.

In my opinion the last great album they released was "six degrees" which I think is underrated. "Train Of thought" was good too but anything after that is average at best.

I never got into "six degrees"..

And some of the newer DT stuff sounds like Muse or Metallica covers. THOUGH this song what is the topic about, is DT at its best imo. Maybe it wouldn´t be fair sayin´ it´s a "diamond in a pile of shit"...under the line it´s personal preference anyway.

The last DT was a disapointment for me, the new one is pretty cool for me again.
