dream theatre or katatonia?

They are both great bands in their own respect. I personally like Dream TheatER over Katatonia. But, I enjoy a lot of Katatonia's music. I just don't know how there's a thread even remotely asking which is better. You can't compare a band with one of the best drummers, keyboardests, guitarists or bassists in a band to a more simplistic band. The Sepultura or Phish comparison maybe a bit outside the box, but Dream Theater vs. Katatonia isn't in the same ballpark either.

Maybe Dream Theater vs. Symphony X and Katatonia vs. Nightingale would have been better comparisons to which one might prefer.

Man...if it doesn't have anything to do with Opeth it has to be posted in the non-opeth forum. But Katatonia no question. DT have some ok at best early material imo. Katatonia while I don't love them have some pretty good albums. Plus its Dream Theater.

Yeah, but would they play anything from them?
I would sell my left leg to see Brave, 12 or Endtime live with Mikael on vocals. That would be god.

Dream Theater are way overrated. Most of their songs are boring (they do have a few good ones), and their vocalist is pretty much awful.
