great stuff!!!
Can you tell us how do you mic/eq/comp the kick to obtain that metal tone?
It's superb I really like it, to me seems impossible to obtain a kick like that from a natural one.
Does Yamaha sub really help?

I did a quick recording just to try out the kicks and snares, and ended up with something that I most probably stole from Arch Enemy, ha ha! Don't know which song though, does it ring anyones bells?

DSS3 said:I really dig these! Thanks! Just plugged these into a little At The Gates style thing I did today, so you can hear them in context. Guitars were EMG85 into tubescreamer into PODxt, with Kazrog's patch.

Andy Sneap said:I did the kick and snare in stereo so you had the stereo reverb on them slightly.
I don't normally do them in stereo but some do and I thought I'd give you the option.
Andy Sneap said:Processing wise, I'm just eqing with channel strip (metric halo, www.mhlabs.com).
Andy Sneap said:The Audix D6 has a good top end but is a touch scooped in the mids, so I'm tending to shove quite abit of 1-2k back in there.
Matt Smith said:What about the snare, how much EQing did you do? Do you have to add a lot of top end to get that crack, or do I just suck? Also, do you filter off the low end of snares at all to get rid of boom/mud?
Thanks Andy, you rule.

I made some effort to try and get a cool sounding drum mix here. Not perfect but I like it.
Someone put some riffs to that!
