Drumkit on the Ihsahn album

Here's my current set-up which I'm using on the Ihsahn album. It's pretty close to what I use in Spiral Architect.

I see you're still using the electronic bass drums. Is there any difference in responce with them compared to a regular bass drum?

I think that it's the same than using triggered bass drums, but without the size and space problems.

It's definitely not the same as triggered bass drums. You can tune the V-drums so they totally feel like real drums, but the main thing is that they don't make as much noise on the other microphones as real bass drums would (you only hear the clicking). That means it's much easier to fix the recorded bass drums. Another cool thing is that I can have the toms mounted lower when I don't have the bass drums.

Well, all drummers seem to strip down their kit as they get better so that's why I have this AC/DC type kit now, hehe.

Mostly a performance video. There will also be shots of Ihsahn from another location (which I haven't seen).

what do you think of his setup? i really like the sound of the china bekkens he uses. Cryptosy latest cd has also a very cool drumsound, have you heard it?

Only heard one song and I didn't like the production that much. I like their old sound better.

This is not a project - it is Ihsahn's solo album...

I've been told the album will be mixed in January for a March or early April release. Think the video will be finished by February or something but I don't know when it will be made available to the public.
