There is no way to compare these 2 similiar amps in a room. They are too loud to judge what the actual differences are.

The way to tell the difference is how it sounds mic'd. After all..thats how your amp will be heard.

What brand of 6L6's did you pop in?

I just put the stock Ruby's out of my 6505 in there.

Is there anyone from the UK here that has bought a new rec from a store. Only reason i'm asking is because £1800 seems harshly overpriced, what's the cheapest anyone bought it for while still being brand new?? I'm afraid of buying second hand stuff off ebay in fear that it might just die out on me the next day or something!

Can anyone help me with tube questions? My guitarist has a three channel Triple Rect and I'm curious what tubes would be best if/when he replaces the stock ones. Neither of us know squat about tubes, and the amp sounds great right now but we have never heard one modded at all whether it be with replaced speakers, tubes, or anything like that so we don't know what we could be missing.

He plays hard rock, not really metal. I figured someone here may be able to help point me in a good direction.
